Singapore Zoo

Spend some time with our playful Asian small-clawed otters at Rainforest Walk before heading to Gibbon Island to visit our energetic primates. Go on to witness how our gentle jumbos get cleaned up at the Elephant Bathing area and treat them to some fruit snacks during the token feeding session. 
 
Proceed to see how our Californian sea lion shows off his water skills at the Splash Safari Show at Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre. Get seated at the wet area if you fancy getting splashed! Next, stroll around Primate Kingdom to marvel at our large collection of agile tree-dwellers. 
 
Do not miss the Elephants at Work and Play Show  at 11.30am at the Elephants of Asia exhibit to catch our gentle giants getting down to business or see what sort of mischief they get up to. 
 
Not too far away, you can visit our award-winning Great Rift Valley of Ethiopia exhibit that features a troop of close to 90 hamadryas baboons and other Ethiopian creatures. You will also experience the native Ethiopian lifestyle with recreations of rustic tribal villages and artifacts.
 
Another must visit, is the fragile forest where this walk-through recreation of a rainforest allows you to come up close with our critters such as the free-ranging mousedeers, lemurs and sloths. 
 
Take the tram from Tram Stop 2 and alight at the final point (near the free-ranging orang utan island). Walk 5-8 minutes to the exit (main entrance) and don’t forget to bring back some attractive souvenirs from the zoo shop.

    Bay of Bengal & Laccadive Sea

    Uncover the mysteries of the Sundarbans Mangrove, home to a myriad of endangered plants and animals found along the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Discover mangrove inhabitants such as mudskippers, spotted scats, archerfish and silver batfish that use the extensive network of mangrove tree roots as nesting and nursery areas.

    Around the corner, spy on curious spotted garden eels popping in and out of their sand burrows and “find Nemo” as well as reef lobsters, white-rayed antenna gobies, long-nose hawkfish and other jewels of the Coral Reef.

    Further along lies the Patch Reef of Brain Corals and majestic Staghorn Corals, leading to a reef drop similar to those found in the Laccadive Sea, teeming with unique fish species such as the queen angelfish, yellowface angelfish, imperator angelfish and others.

    East Africa

    As you travel across the Great Lakes of East Africa, be awestruck by the tremendous diversity of fish, many of which evolved within the lakes and are found nowhere else in the world. The two freshwater lake habitats of Africa, Lake Victoria and Lake Tanganyika, are home to an astounding variety of fish adorned in all colours of the rainbow. Some of the native african cichlids include the frontosa, kribensis, and mbuna, which share their home with the predatory african tigerfish armed with dagger-shaped, interlocking teeth. They are often found near the lake bed and hunt in fierce, voracious packs. It is no wonder that they are considered the piranhas of Africa!

    South China Sea

    The colourful bright stripes on the body and fins of the lionfish serve as a warning to all, as they swim by confidently displaying their poisonous outstretched barbs. Explore Singapore's latest National Gardens-Garden by the Bay, Bay South, the largest at 54 hectares.
 
Make your way to two climate conservatories- Flower Dome, wander amongst thousand-year-old olive trees and unusual Baobabs of the cool-dry Mediterranean and subtropical regions as you take in sights of the changing seasonal floral display.
 
Step into the world of the Cloud  Forest and explore the highlands amidst orchids, pitcher plants and ferns from the cool- moist Tropical Montane region, complete with a 35-metre man-made mountain and waterfall.
 
Look up in awe at dramatic vertical plant displays amidst our 18 supertrees at the Supertrees Grove or enjoy a bird's eye view form the 22-metre high OCBC Skyway. And when night falls, the Supertrees come to life with spectacular light and sound show at 7.45pm and 8.45pm nightly.

Kick off your adventure at the world’s first and only Night Safari with an exciting Thumbuakar performance as the ethnic dancers heat up your night with their energy, rhythm and amazing fire-eating skills.  
 
Thereafter, hop on board an exciting tram ride with live commentary and begin your 40-minute wildlife expedition through 7 geographical zones of the world, beginning with the Himalayan Foothills, Indian Subcontinent and Equatorial Africa. Be greeted by the Himalayan tahrs and bharals as they graze into the night. Keep an eye out for the striped hyenas and the endangered Gir lions at the Indian Subcontinent. At the plains of Equatorial Africa, you will see giraffes, zebras, hippopotami and more.
 
For up close viewing of animals, alight at East Lodge and embark on the Leopard Trail. 
 
Catch the beautiful leopards in action as you observe them up close through the glass windows of the viewing gallery. Not to be missed here is the walk-through habitat housing the giant flying squirrels. Watch in awe as they glide from tree to tree, sometimes coming down for a landing on the lower branches near you. 
 
Hop back onto the tram and continue the rest of the journey with Indo-Malayan Region, Asian Riverine Forest, Nepalese River Valley and the Burmese Hillside.
 
Along the Indo-Malayan route,you will see the endangered Malayan tiger. As the tram meanders into the Asian Riverine Forest, keep your eyes peeled to the tapirs foraging for leaves and be greeted by a herd of Asian elephants!  Other animals to look out for on the remaining journey are the sambar deer, greater Asian rhinoceros, thamins and more.
 
For the finale, proceed to watch the “Creatures of the Night Show”.  This 20-minute animal extravaganza will thrill you as you witness the natural talents of the otter, binturong, civet and more. Watch, learn, be entertained and even be part of the act. 
 
Return back to the hotel by coach.
